Upcycling retired sails and turning them into everyday objects and decoration: that is the philosophy that led to the creation of 727 Sailbags which grows with the brand today. For over 10 years now, the 727 Sailbags company has created and commercialised luggage items using former boat sails.

THE CHALLENGE

To provide handles that are coherent with the brand’s universe and meet the guidelines perfectly: colours, materials, length and finishing.

THE SOLUTION IN DETAIL:

A legendary boat has legendary sails. With the Pen Duick collection launched in 2019, Marie Tabarly joined forces with 727 Sailbags to create a collection from the sails of Eric Tabarly’s legendary boat “Pen Duick VI”. The Ino-Rope team worked on the “L’Indispensable” model, the shopping bag made from 100 % recycled boat sails. This unique big bag made from sails was refined with its leather base and a “Pen Duick VI” screen print. With precise guidelines and our expertise, we created elegant handles, spliced in our workshop.
We are proud of this local collaboration which was a great success: the collection quickly ran out of stock shortly after it came out.
