Innovative Mooring Lines for the Algolesko Aquaculture Park

Revolutionizing offshore seaweed farming: a challenge met
Ino-Rope, an expert in high-performance mooring and anchoring solutions, is proud to have supported Algolesko, a pioneering company in marine seaweed cultivation, in the establishment of its innovative aquaculture park off the coast of Lesconil, Brittany. Our mission: to design and manufacture 420 innovative mooring lines to secure 36 km of seaweed cultivation structures in a demanding marine environment.
An exceptional site, high requirements.
The Algolesko aquaculture park spans 150 hectares offshore, located within a Natura 2000 classified area. Laminaria seaweed is cultivated in pristine waters, adhering strictly to environmental regulations. To ensure the sustainability of its operations and the quality of its production, Algolesko required a reliable and durable mooring solution capable of withstanding the sometimes extreme marine conditions at the Lesconil site.
A tailored solution for optimal performance
Ino-Rope met this challenge by developing a customized mooring system that meets Algolesko’s specific requirements:
420 innovative mooring lines
Precision-engineered and manufactured, these lines ensure optimal stability for the seaweed cultivation structures, even under the most challenging weather conditions.
Secured 36 km of cultivation structures
Thanks to the reliability of our mooring system, Algolesko can cultivate seaweed confidently, optimizing production while preserving the marine environment.
Enhanced navigation
The mooring system accommodates the passage of the harvesting barge, ensuring smooth and safe navigation.
Reduced maintenance
The robust design of our mooring lines minimizes maintenance interventions, thereby reducing operating costs for Algolesko.
Increased durability
The custom-made ropes, manufactured in France, offer exceptional resistance to wear and weathering, ensuring a long lifespan for the mooring system.
Proven results and enduring collaboration
The success of this collaboration is evident: after two years of operation, Ino-Rope’s mooring lines have demonstrated their effectiveness, even amidst the rigorous winter storms at the Lesconil site. Algolesko has experienced no material losses, and the quality of its seaweed production has remained consistent.
Building on this success, Ino-Rope and Algolesko continue to collaborate to optimize the mooring system and meet the evolving needs of the company. New improvements are currently in development, aimed at further supporting Algolesko in its mission to produce sustainable and high-quality seaweed.
In conclusion, Ino-Rope once again demonstrates its expertise in designing innovative and high-performance mooring solutions tailored to the most demanding marine environments. Our commitment alongside Algolesko illustrates our dedication to the sustainable development of the seaweed sector in France.
