Privacy Policy
When does this privacy policy apply?
From the moment you interact with us, we collect information about you, whether by phone, email exchanges, or on the website. We collect it for informational purposes to optimize your search. Details are provided below. If anything remains unclear, or if you need further explanations, do not hesitate to contact us.
A. How do we collect your information?
We collect information through various acquisition and communication channels. Here is the list of these different channels:
Phone: Many of you contact us by phone for clarifications, to place orders, get additional information about a product, a service, stock information, etc. We only ask for the data necessary to properly process your request (civil status, address, email, phone number to reach you, technical details about your boat or your use). We keep a call log via our subcontractor OVH for a maximum of one month.
Email: We also receive your requests by email, either directly at our addresses (@inorope.com, @ino-rope.com, @ino-block.com), or via forms on our different platforms. As with the previous channel, we only collect the information necessary to properly process your request.
Website: To continually improve your browsing experience, we use tracking tools to follow the steps of your navigation (pages visited, actions performed (clicks and searches)), identify the devices used (mobile, tablet, or desktop) as well as the source of the visit (Google search, ad, etc.). Your real identity is not recorded, and we do not perform any additional processing or cross-referencing with other data.
Social Networks: We are not responsible for the information you share via social networks.
Subcontractors: To provide you with quality service, we subcontract certain site functionalities (reviews, payment, hosting mainly). We have reviewed the contracts binding us, and we can assure you that all our solution providers comply with the new law. To know the information our subcontractors may collect about you, do not hesitate to contact our DPO ([email protected]).
B. What information do we collect?
We will try to list here the information we may collect during our exchanges. Of course, the level of collection varies depending on your requests, projects, orders, and whether you are a professional or an individual. Here are the main categories of data we collect directly:
- Civil status: name, first name, billing and delivery postal address, landline and/or mobile phone number, email address. For professionals, we may ask for the SIRET, Kbis, intra-community number.
- Technical details of your boat or project: depending on your requests, we may collect information about your boat, your practices, your navigation areas (etc.), but we do not keep any element after processing your request.
- Connection data: we collect via trackers the connection IPs, the navigation steps of our users, the type of browser, the size of your screen (etc.) via the Google Analytics service.
Two of our subcontractors indirectly collect your information:
- Verified Reviews: we transmit your order details and civil status to them to allow them to contact you directly so that you can give your opinion on our platform and our products. You can give your opinion freely, without any moderation from us. We have a 7-day moderation period for bad reviews to identify the reasons for customer dissatisfaction and provide the best possible remedy.
- PayPlug: we have chosen to subcontract the payment part of orders placed on our platform to Payplug. We only transmit the order identifier, your name and first name, and your email, or just your mobile phone. This service allows us to identify possible payment failures and contact you in case of repeated and unjustified failures.
C. How do we use the collected information?
First of all, we have never sold and will never sell your personal information without your consent!
The collection of some of your personal information is solely aimed at providing you with the best possible service. We are fully aware of the responsibility that comes with it and want to reassure you about the use of this information. The two main uses of your information can be divided into two parts: processing your requests and the continuous improvement of our offers.
Processing your requests/orders:
To process your requests, we enter your information into our ERP. This information is used to create a customer profile for which we can create the orders you place with us. We mainly use the information to record your order, communicate quotes, and deliver your order. This information also helps us better understand your request (notably the information related to your boat, your practice, your navigation areas, etc.). We may use the information you provide to contact you about your current orders. We never contact our customers directly without an operational reason.
Continuous improvement of our offers and services:
We have trackers on our platform (managed by the Google Analytics service). The purpose of this approach is to follow the user journey on our site, the most visited content, and the most popular products. This information allows us to make our offers, products, and platform evolve to provide you with the best possible service.
D. Where do we store the information?
At Ino-Rope, we are very “digital,” so most of the collected data is archived either on our cloud, hosted on our premises, or online on our servers at OVH. OVH is the European leader in web hosting and ensures a very high level of quality and stability of service. Furthermore, we pay particular attention to the security and backup of this data, as well as the maintenance of our information systems. Some data may be stored physically (mainly “papers”), while processing your orders, and is subsequently destroyed and recycled.
E. With whom do we share the information?
We need to share your information with certain parties to ensure the best possible service. We only share your information when necessary. Below you will find explanations on why we share this information.
Internal staff:
Our staff may need to view your data to respond to your requests/orders/projects. Each employee is trained in the new standard and has a strong confidentiality clause in their contract.
Service providers:
To offer you the best possible service, we use third-party companies (IT service providers, developers, marketers). We take great care to ensure they themselves comply with the new regulation.
For legal reasons:
In some cases, your information must be shared with local authorities such as customs services, usually due to additional “paperwork” required or simply to get your order to you.
How do we share it:
We mainly use our servers, which are up to date in terms of protection and security.
What measures have we taken to ensure the security of your information with third parties?
We have contacted all the suppliers with whom we exchange your data and verified that all comply with the new regulation.
F. Accessing and updating your personal information:
In the “My Account” section, you can find all the information we hold about you. You can either modify it directly or contact us to make changes.
Changes:
Our privacy policy is likely to evolve but without reducing the care and confidentiality we attach to your data. These changes can be identified by the change of the update date indicated at the top of this page. In case of significant changes, we commit to contacting you to inform you as soon as possible.
Cookies:
A cookie is a small file that allows a website to adapt to its visitor. We currently only have statistical analysis cookies (Google Analytics). Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie does not give us access to your computer or any information about you, except the data you choose to share with us.
You can choose to accept or refuse cookies. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to refuse cookies. However, this may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.
CV / job applications:
We keep all job applications and CVs in our records for 3 years. We never share your CVs with anyone without first discussing it with you.
